  The property and the ambiance are absolutely gorgeous. The menu and preparation were spectacular. Went for a girlfriends day of schlepping around Old Forge. Stopped by for lunch on a recommendation. So glad we did. It was absolutely memorable. I had a lovely pumpkin soup with the best quiche ever. The ingredients, preparation and presentation were the best. Highly recommend! Make sure to check out the stunning lighting fixtures.

  The food was very good but was very over priced. The portions are a little small and portions for items didn't match. For example we ordered the cheese fondue they gave you way more cheese than bread and when we asked for more bread they gave use different bread and charged us for it. Also some entrees came with sides and others didn't. Why wouldn't all entrees come with sides? The service should of been much better at those prices too. My water glass was empty early on and was never refilled. Once our waitress took our order she was very scarce. Wish prices, service and portions were better because the chef knows what he is doing.

  Someone in the kitchen knows how to cook but whoever is managing the front - specifically the charming porch & street-side tables - needs a course in customer service. When we arrived this pleasant late September Saturday evening things started out fairly well. No hostess to seat us but we found our reserved "corner of the porch" table for 5 ourselves. Someone turned on the heater at our request and two people deposited menus & glasses of water with a flourish. We were all anticipation...
  40 minutes later no one had returned either to take a drink order or to put a morsel of bread, crackers, anything on the table. One of us went searching for our waitress who then arrived to take our drink order. Another half hour, another search before our bottle of red & bottle of white were delivered. Gun shy, we ordered our food as soon as the wine was poured and asked for bread. "Yes" we were told. Two almost empty bottles later, probably another 40 minutes - deep into the wine without food, time becomes warped - still no food, no bread, no apology. Another search resulted in delivery of two appetizer plates and two bowls of soup (the roasted veg was amazing I know this because we all shared and realized that was going to be it.) We found our hapless waitress, paid for what we ate and drank, tipped the poor girl and left. Never did an owner (one of the sisters??) approach to apologize or show concern in any way. There was music inside and a busy bar. Maybe the "sisters" should decide if they want a bar crowd or a dinner crowd but whatever happens we won't be among them.
